Why should you consider a private dance lesson?

Students who take private lessons will benefit from the individual attention and personalized instruction in a one-on-one class. You will experience not only physical growth but also a deeper understanding of dance and greater confidence. Your instructor will be chosen specifically to best suit you and your goals, and the lesson will be built with you in mind!

Many students who are trying a new style or level of dance enjoy taking 3 to 4 private lessons to help better prepare/acclimate them to their new class. Private lessons are also great for students wishing to improve their technique for pointe preparation or to help accelerate them to a higher level of dance. Lastly, students who are preparing a dance solo for an audition or school show may benefit from some one-on-one coaching.

What are my options?

Lessons will need to be scheduled around our other studio bookings and based on teacher’s availability (so if a class is already happening, we won’t be able to do a private lesson at that same time, unless you’re up for a virtual lesson!). Lessons can be either 45 or 60 minutes and can be a one-time lesson to help with class acceleration/recital choreography or, in some cases, a consistent lesson that occurs for the entire semester/dance year.

Private lessons are billed per individual class held, therefore the rate will depend on how long your private lesson is and exactly how many you book. Continue to read below for prices and payment options. *We currently do not accept any sibling discounts or multi-private lesson discounts toward private lessons.

Current Members (must be currently enrolled)

• 60 minutes = $45/lesson

• 45 minutes = $35/lesson

• Staff receive 10% discount

Non-Members

• 60 minutes = $50/lesson

• 45 minutes = $40/lesson

Tuition Policy:
- Tuition is due at time of booking to reserve your spot (so if you wish to book two lessons at one time, payment for both is due at time of booking, otherwise, we will only book the lesson we are receiving payment for). Current members can pay manually through their AODA portal or request our office to auto draft. New members will be contacted by our office to obtain billing information. Please note that payment is still due if you fail to show up without 24-hours cancellation notice.

24-hour Cancellation Policy:
- For private lessons, we ask for a 24-hour cancellation notice, otherwise the original fee is still due (up to but not exceeding $35) out of respect for the teacher’s time and preparation. As these are private bookings, we do not grant refunds or makeups if you are not able to make your lesson and do not give us 24-hours notice. It is your responsibility to reach out to the office prior to 24 hours to request a cancellation or reschedule.
- Occasionally, due to sickness or family/work emergency, etc, we may need to bring in a sub-teacher or cancel the lesson. Should that happen, we will contact you as soon as possible about refunding and/or rescheduling the lesson.

Covid/etc Policy:
- In case of a mandatory shutdown, due to Covid-19, etc, AODA has the right to transition to virtual classes. We have the right to still enforce our cancellation policy, and our payment policy will remain the same, with no refund for tuition or other fees already paid. Our tuition rate will also remain the same as it takes just as much work (if not more) for our staff to teach virtual lessons as it does in-person lessons.
